Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival in Casablanca – Rabat
Upon your arrival at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed. Should your arrival time allow, we advise starting with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque. This site is not only the largest mosque in Morocco but also a feat of modern engineering, capable of hosting over 100,000 worshippers. Depart directly to Rabat, the stately capital of Morocco. Rabat blends modern elegance with rich historical heritage. Today's sightseeing includes the Royal Palace, the ancient Chellah with its Roman ruins, the Hassan Tower, and the Mohammed V Mausoleum. You will also visit the magnificent Kasbah of the Oudaias, with its monumental gateway and Andalusian-style streets. Dinner and overnight in a riad or hotel in Rabat.
Rabat – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast, travel to the imperial city of Meknes, once the capital under Sultan Moulay Ismail. Discover its massive walls, the monumental Bab Mansour gate, and the royal stables. After lunch, continue to Fes for a focused afternoon exploration of the oldest Imperial City. Wander through the medieval medina of Fes el-Bali, visiting the Nejjarine Fountain and witnessing the traditional leather tanning and pottery crafts. Dinner and overnight in a traditional riad in Fes.
Fes – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Depart Fes early and journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, the "Switzerland of Morocco," known for its alpine architecture and cedar forests. Continue through the Ziz Valley, stopping to admire the dramatic gorges and panoramic oasis views before arriving in Merzouga at the edge of the Sahara. In the late afternoon, start on a camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to witness a spectacular sunset. Spend the night in a luxury desert camp with traditional music and stargazing.
Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Wake early for a magical sunrise over the dunes before returning for breakfast. Today features a long but scenic drive directly to Marrakech. Pass through the palm-lined valleys of Tinjdad to reach the towering Todra Gorge. Continue through the Valley of Roses and Ouarzazate, crossing the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Arrive in the "Red City" in the late evening. Dinner and overnight in a riad or hotel in Marrakech.
